West Ham could try to buy Boubacar Kamara from Marseille this month according to a report from The Sun.

The 22-year-old is out of contract with the Ligue 1 outfit in the summer, so he will be available on a free transfer in five month’s time.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that Hammers boss David Moyes will wait until then to get a deal done for Kamara though.

The young Frenchman could be available for a bargain fee in the January transfer window.

West Ham eyeing exciting Boubacar Kamara swoop

The Sun reckon that the Hammers could open talks to sign the French midfielder on a pre-contract agreement ahead of the summer transfer window.

It is also suggested that we could actually buy the midfielder this month, however, with Marseille keen to salvage some kind of fee for him.

There is a big problem though. Kamara is allegedly demanding £150k-a-week from his potential suitors (The Sun). And with Newcastle reportedly in the race for his signature as well, West Ham may well have our work cut-out.

If there is anyway of getting a deal done for Kamara, the Hammers absolutely have to get it done.

He is a quite brilliant young player and Milan Reports describe the Frenchman as a ‘sensational’ talent.

If West Ham are concerned that Declan Rice will one day leave the London Stadium, the owners must act now. There is not a better replacement out there than Kamara.

And if it takes £150k-a-week to bring him to East London, we should just give him what he wants.

In 17 Ligue 1 appearances for Marseille this season, Kamara has averaged 1.2 tackles and 1.1 interceptions per match. He’s made 58.2 passes on average per game and has recorded an incredibly successful completion rate of 89.4% (Who Scored).

The 22-year-old is energetic, dynamic and would add some much needed athleticism and bite to West Ham’s central midfield ranks.

Kamara is a truly sensational talent. Signing him this month should be a no-brainer for the Hammers.

Sure, David Moyes should be prioritising the additions of a centre-forward and a centre-back.

Sometimes there are deals out there that are too good to miss out on, however. And the chance to sign Boubacar Kamara is certainly an example of that.
