West Ham United are planning a crazy move to sign a World Cup winner to replace Lucas Paqueta in the summer.
Lucas Paqueta joined West Ham from Lyon in the summer of 2022, and he has gone on to establish himself as one of the Premier League’s best players., but now we might be forced to replace him.
The 26 year old has been in excellent form for the Hammers this season, and as a result has been recalled to the Brazil National team squad.
However, there is one big concern for the West Ham fans, and that is that Manchester City want to sign him in an £85 million deal this summer.
If David Moyes does lose the Brazilian, he will have to bring in an elite replacement for him…

West Ham could replace Lucas Paqueta with injury prone 30-year-old
The Hammers are eyeing up a summer move to sign Roma forward Paulo Dybala, according to a report from Football Transfers.
I have to say, I don’t believe this for one minute – a move to sign the Argentinian World Cup winner just wouldn’t make any sense.
He’s 30 for a start, and will be 31 just a couple of months after the 2024/25 season begins. The former Palermo and Juventus forward is incredibly injury prone as well.
Since the start of the 2020/21 season, the South American forward has missed 378 days of action (Transfermarkt).
On top of all of that, he doesn’t even play in the same role as Paqueta does. He would just be a baffling signing for the Hammers.
Dybala also earns around £137k-a-week at Roma (Salary Sport), and he would undoubtedly demand even more than that for the last big contract of his career.
At his age, it would be hard for him to come into the Premier League and adjust to the ferocious speed and intensity. In fact, it may well be impossible for him given his problems with injuries throughout his career.
If West Ham do have to replace Paqueta this summer, I would like Moyes to bring in a younger, more robust player than Dybala with a really high ceiling. Someone like Eberechi Eze or Lazar Samardžić would do the trick perfectly!
