West Ham are confident of securing a deal for Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola according to club insider ExWHUemployee.

Hammers boss David Moyes is keen to strengthen multiple areas of his squad at the London Stadium this summer.

A new goalkeeper wasn’t considered to be the Scot’s absolute priority.

It seems as though the West Ham chief is desperate to provide more competition for Lukasz Fabianski this season, however.

Moyes wants to bring the 28-year-old Frenchman to the London Stadium this summer and (Foot Mercato and L’Equipe).

West Ham confident of signing Areola

That’s according to club insider ExWHUemployee who claims that whilst a deal is not yet done, the Hammers are confident of bringing the Frenchman to the London Stadium this summer:

Areola would be an exceptional addition for West Ham.

He really impressed last season whilst on loan in England with Fulham.

Areola is a fine shot-stopper and is exceptional with the ball at his feet. He could be available for around £20 million this summer (The Sun). That’s great value as far as we’re concerned.

Hopefully we can sign the PSG ace on loan with an option to buy next summer. That would then free up funds for Moyes to strengthen in other areas of his squad.
