The Hammers have been chasing the 23-year-old Fiorentina centre-back for quite some time now.

The East Londoners made a £23 million bid for the Fiorentina centre-back during last summer’s transfer window according to a report from Gianluca Di Marzio.

And the links with a move to sign the Serbia international have refused to go away since then.

Calciomercato have claimed that West Ham could sign Milenkovic for just £14 million this summer.

That would be truly outstanding value for the Hammers.

West Ham confident of deal for Milenkovic

It seems as though the Hammers are closing on what would be an incredible deal.

Ex claims that talks have progressed well between West Ham, Fiorentina and Milenkovic himself.

The Hammers are now allegedly confident of getting a deal for the 28-capped Serbian international over the line.

We cannot emphasise enough just how good a signing Milenkovic would be for West Ham.

In 34 Serie A appearances for Fiorentina last season, the Serbian scored three goals and registered one assist. In those outings, he averaged 1.4 tackles, 1.3 interceptions, 3.6 clearances and one block per match. The 23-year-old won an average of 3 aerial duals per game. He also had an 86% pass completion rate from an average of 46.6 passes per match (Who Scored).

Milenkovic is ideally suited to the Premier League what with his aerial dominance and aggressive, tenacious playing style.

£14 million for the Serb would be an absolute steal. And signing Milenkovic would turn a poor window into a good one very quickly.
