West Ham are reportedly ‘closing on two signings’ but James Ward-Prowse could join Nottingham Forest before deadline.
Both the Hammers and Nottingham Forest are very much still active in the transfer market ahead of deadline day.
And it seems there could be some business between the Premier League rivals.
Nottingham Forest have been linked with three West Ham players over the course of the summer so far including Michail Antonio, Maxwel Cornet and Danny Ings.
The Hammers meanwhile have been linked with Tricky Trees duo Taiwo Awoniyi and Neco Williams earlier on in the window.
West Ham and Nottingham Forest have also shared several mutual targets.
Forest signed reported Hammers targets Jota Silva and Nikola Milenkovic.
But those were back-up targets for West Ham who have been operating at a higher level in the transfer market, bringing eight top signings.
West Ham ‘close on two signings’ reports claim
The Irons have signed the likes of Jean-Clair Todibo, Max Kilman, Niclas Fullkrug, Guido Rodriguez, Crysencio Summerville and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.
The Hammers are not done there, though.
A top spokesman inside the club exclusively told Hammers News that West Ham are working on more than one signing before deadline.
Reports are gathering pace that West Ham are edging closer to signing PSG midfielder Carlos Soler and Roma striker Tammy Abraham.
A top Italian journalist has claimed West Ham are talking to Abraham after agreeing terms with Roma – subject to players being shipped out.
West Ham have today confirmed to Hammers News that they are indeed hopeful of signing Soler if some current players can be offloaded.
Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth is also claiming that to be the case.
And Nottingham Forest could be set to ensure one player facing a bleak future is.

Ward-Prowse could join Nottingham Forest
There are major question marks over the future of James Ward-Prowse at West Ham.
Ward-Prowse was very much a David Moyes signing at West Ham last summer.
The Hammers signed the 29-year-old for £30m.
Ward-Prowse contributed 18 goals and assists in all competitions for the Hammers in his debut season.
But his contribution to the team in open play was often questioned.
Ward-Prowse also failed to score a single free-kick in his first season.
Not it is being claimed elsewhere that Forest are ready to make an offer for Ward-Prowse. Especially in the wake of Danilo’s horror ankle injury on the opening day of the season.
News that Ward-Prowse could be sold will divide some fans.
Better Ward-Prowse departs than Alvarez
But it is difficult to see where he will get games for the Hammers with Rodriguez, Lucas Paqueta, Edson Alvarez, Tomas Soucek and – if he signs – Soler all ahead of him.
Nottingham Forest fans will undoubtedly welcome news Ward-Prowse might join them before the deadline.
If it means the Hammers don’t sell Alvarez or another star player then West Ham fans may welcome it too.
Especially if Ward-Prowse joining Forest means West Ham can get their final deals done before Friday’s 11pm deadline.
West Ham fans who follow Hammers News won’t be too surprised to hear Ward-Prowse could be sold.
A Hammers board source reported Ward-Prowse could be sold all the way back at the end of May.
