Homme du Match claimed last week that Hammers boss David Moyes is eyeing a £12.5 million swoop for the 22-year-old Sao Paulo ace.
The Scot was unable to bring Matheus Pereira to the London Stadium this summer whilst a deal for Jesse Lingard seems highly unlikely.
So it seems as though the East London outfit could now switch their attention to Sao Paulo star Gomes.

But is there a real chance that we could sign him?

The 22-year-old South American is a real talent.
It seems as though we are a long way off from actually signing him, however.
ExWHUemployee claims that the rumours regarding the Hammers’ interest in the play-maker could very well be largely driven by agents.

The West Ham insider also suggests that despite the fact that Gomes would be a good alternative to Lingard, there are doubts as to whether he would even be able to secure a work permit.
So as things stand, it seems highly unlikely that Gomes will be moving to the London Stadium.
The 22-year-old is undoubtedly a player we should be keeping an eye on, however. He is certainly a really talented young player.

David Moyes may well have to look elsewhere once again…unless he is still harbouring hopes of signing Lingard of course!
