West Ham boss David Moyes is reportedly open to selling Said Benrahma

West Ham United boss David Moyes is allegedly open to selling Said Benrahma in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from The Evening Standard who claim that the Hammers boss will only sell the 26-year-old if he receives a significant bid for his services.

Benrahma joined West Ham from Brentford in October 2020.

He ended up joining on a permanent £25 million deal in January 2021, having spent the previous three months at the London Stadium on a £4 million loan deal (Eurosport).

Benrahma struggled to make much of an impact during his first season at the London Stadium. This term though, the Algerian ace has shown what he is all about.

Benrahma bagged 11 goals and six assists in 48 games for the Hammers this season (Transfermarkt). Only Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen have more and Benrahma has played more than 1,000 minutes less than both of those players.

It appears as though the ex-Brentford man didn’t do quite enough to impress Moyes though…

David Moyes open to selling Benrahma

The Evening Standard claim that the Scot will listen to offers for Benny and could sell him if a significant offer is made for his services.

We honestly believe that selling Benrahma would be a massive mistake from West Ham.

We truly believe that Moyes is just not keen on the 26-year-old full-stop. In fact, there is an argument to be made that he wasn’t even a Moyes signing. The Scot wanted Eberechi Eze and got given Benrahma.

Moyes’s treatment of Said over the past 18 months or so suggests that he never wanted him in the first place.

So bearing that in mind, it would be no surprise whatsoever if Moyes is indeed open to selling Benrahma in the summer transfer window.

The Algerian may well go on and flourish elsewhere. We’re really hoping that Moyes doesn’t sell him this summer though. It could end up being a disastrous decision.
