West Ham United are allegedly eyeing up a summer swoop to sign Maxwel Cornet from recently relegated Burnley.
That’s according to a report from The Telegraph who claim that the Hammers are looking to take advantage of Burnley’s relegation down to the Championship by signing the absolutely rapid 25-year-old forward.

Cornet joined Burnley from Lyon in the summer of 2021 for around £13 million (BBC).
He has been a huge hit at Turf Moor, bagging nine goals and two assists in 29 games for the Clarets (Transfermarkt).

However, Cornet’s future with Burnley is now uncertain to say the least. He certainly didn’t sign up for Championship football.
Hammers manager David Moyes desperately needs to add some proper pace to his ranks at the London Stadium in the summer transfer window.
And it seems as though the Scot is intent on doing exactly that…
West Ham eyeing Maxwell Cornet swoop
The Telegraph reckon that the Hammers are set to battle it out with Everton for the 25-capped Ivory Coast international’s signature in the summer.
We believe that the Burnley speed demon would be a sensational signing for West Ham.
He’s one of the quickest forwards in the Premier League and can operate on either wing or through the middle as a centre-forward.
Cornet can even play as a left-back if need be!

The Ivorian is aggressive, direct and loves running at opposing defenders.
West Ham have struggled without any real pace in our team over the past year or so. Michail Antonio has definitely lost half a yard.
The Premier League is built on power and pace nowadays.
Burnley star Maxwel Cornet possesses both of those attributes in abundance.
We would absolutely love to see Cornet at West Ham next season. Quite how much Burnley will demand for his signature remains to be seen though.
