West Ham boss David Moyes is keen to sign Club America midfielder Pedro Aquino in January according to a report Libero.
Hammers boss David Moyes is expected to be a very busy man in the January transfer window.
The additions of a top-class centre-forward and an established centre-back should be the Scot’s main two priorities.
It seems as though Moyes is keen to bolster other areas of his squad at the London Stadium as well, however.
Moyes seemingly isn’t sold on Alex Kral whilst Mark Noble just hasn’t got the legs for Premier League football anymore. And Moyes may well be keen to bolster his engine room.
West Ham boss Moyes after January central midfield reinforcement?
Libero claims that Club America ace Aquino is firmly on the Hammers’ radar ahead of the January transfer window.
The 26-year-old Peru international is a really tenacious midfielder.
His playing style is quintessentially South American. He is a tough tackler and is most comfortable when sitting in front of the back four.
The Peruvian is a very good footballer. In fact, he is described as an ‘outstanding midfielder’ by Aguilas Monumental.
We just can’t see this one happening though, unless Moyes really doesn’t rate Kral whatsoever.
There are certainly more proven players out there on the market. And it has to be said, Moyes really should be prioritising strengthening other areas of his squad in January.
There are claims from Aguilas Monumental, however, that West Ham United’s Head of Recruitment Rob Newman has identified the Club America midfielder as a potential signing for Moyes.
And if that is the case, we would have no problem if Moyes signed Aquino. That’s what Newman has been brought in for after all.
