Olivier Glasner could be set to cause West Ham United a real problem when he takes over at Crystal Palace.

West Ham boss David Moyes has a big summer transfer window lying ahead of him, if he is still in charge at the London Stadium of course, but soon-to-be Crystal Palace manager Olivier Glasner could wreck one of the Scot’s plans it seems.

The 49-year-old Austrian is expected to take over from Roy Hodgson at Selhurst Park imminently, according to the Guardian.

And according to a report from TEAMtalk, Glasner will challenge Moyes for the signing of Al-Ittihad ace Jota in the summer.

So it seems like the Scot will have a real battle on his hands if he is to bring the 24-year-old forward to the London Stadium…

Oliver Glasner wants 24-yo ‘born entertainer’ at Crystal Palace

I feel like Jota would be a fine addition to Moyes’s ranks, and a Celtic expert recently told Hammers News that the ‘born entertainer’ would be a great signing for us.

However, West Ham clearly won’t have things all our own way in the race for his signature.

West Ham should be pushing really hard for the former Celtic man in my opinion – his unpredictability and incredible skill makes him absolutely perfect for us.

The 24-year-old has experienced an incredibly tough time out in Saudi Arabia, since joining Al-Ittihad from Celtic for around £25 million back in July (Sky Sports). He was cut from their squad due to the ‘eight foreign player’ rule that was implemented out in Saudi.

In spite of his problems out in Saudi, he has genuine quality, as proven by his record of 28 goals and 26 assists in 83 games for Celtic (Transfermarkt).

Jota is a real bag of tricks and he would undoubtedly endear himself to the London Stadium faithful instantly with his flair and unbelievably creative ability.

However, with Oliver Glasner keen to bring him to Crystal Palace, West Ham will have our work cut out if we are to sign the Portuguese star.
