West Ham are still in the race to sign Ben Brereton Diaz but could face competition from Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa for his signature.
That’s according to a report from TEAMtalk who claim that the Hammers will have to pay at least £15 million for the 23-year-old this summer. Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa are said to be holding a strong interest in prising him away from Blackburn though.

West Ham boss David Moyes still needs to bolster his attacking ranks at the London Stadium before transfer deadline day.
The Scot has already signed Gianluca Scamacca, but more attacking additions are needed if the Hammers are to compete on all fronts this season.

Brereton Diaz would be ideal as far as we’re concerned, given the reasonable fee needed to sign him. Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa will clearly be a problem for us in the race for the 23-year-old’s signature though…
West Ham face Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa competition for Ben Brereton Diaz
TEAMtalk reckon that Forest and Villa could scupper the Hammers’ hopes of signing the Chile international this summer.
We think that Moyes should sign the 23-year-old, if he is indeed available for £15 million. And missing out on him to Nottingham Forest or Aston Villa would be a big blow as far as we’re concerned.
We think that Brereton Diaz is a very solid player and will be a strong signing for whichever club wins the race for his signature this summer.
Brereton Diaz has really impressed since the start of the 2021/22 campaign and he seems to have reached another level entirely for Blackburn.
The Chile international has bagged 22 goals in 37 Championship games (Transfermarkt). Diaz actually went nine games without scoring after the new year but made up for that with a couple of goals in Blackburn’s final four games of the season.

And he has begun this campaign with two goal and one assist in five games.
Brereton Diaz is a hard working striker and standing at 6ft 1in tall, he’s big and strong as well.
Ex-Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray recently raved about the Chile international, as quoted by Lancs Live:
“Brereton with the ball at his feet is an extraordinary talent. He’s a wonderful footballer who can dribble with both feet, take people out of the game.”
Brereton Diaz would provide able competition and cover for Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio at the London Stadium but Nottingham Forest and Aston Villa may well be a big problem for us.
And it remains to be seen where the 23-year-old is plying his trade after the transfer window slams shut this summer.
