Everton allegedly could be set to swoop in for reported West Ham United transfer target Ben Brereton Diaz.
That’s according to a report form The Daily Mail who claim that Everton are keen to sign the 23-year-old, although Nice are the first club to make a concrete move for him.
Report: West Ham now want to sign ‘outstanding’ Premier League midfielder before D-day
Blackburn could sell the 23-year-old for around £15 million this summer (The Sun’s Alan Nixon).

We think that sounds like good value but there could be a big problem on the horizon for West Ham with Everton lurking…
Everton to battle West Ham for Brereton Diaz
The Blackburn hitman is a transfer target for the Toffees this summer, according to a report from The Daily Mail.
It is suggested that Everton boss Frank Lampard wants the Blackburn star to help provide more quality competition up front at Goodison Park this season.
We think that Brereton Diaz is a very solid player and will be a strong signing for whichever club wins the race for his signature this summer.
Brereton Diaz has really impressed since the start of the 2021/22 campaign and he seems to have reached another level entirely for Blackburn.
The Chile international has bagged 22 goals in 37 Championship games (Transfermarkt). Diaz actually went nine games without scoring after the new year but made up for that with a couple of goals in Blackburn’s final four games of the season.
And he has begun this campaign with one goal in two games.

Brereton Diaz is a hard working striker and standing at 6ft 1in tall, he’s big and strong as well.
Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray recently raved about the Chile international, as quoted by Lancs Live:
“Brereton with the ball at his feet is an extraordinary talent. He’s a wonderful footballer who can dribble with both feet, take people out of the game.”
Brereton Diaz would provide able competition and cover for Gianluca Scamacca and Michail Antonio at the London Stadium but Everton may well be a big problem for us.
Meanwhile, it must be noted that he would have far greater chance of playing regularly at Everton than he would at West Ham.
It remains to be seen whether the Hammers board are proactive, with the Toffees and Nice eyeing up bids for the Chile international.
