West Ham must beware because what £35m star Harvey Barnes and his camp have said privately will have Spurs on red alert too.
West Ham have been heavily linked with a move for flying attacker Harvey Barnes following his relegation with Leicester City but so too have Newcastle and Tottenham Hotspur.
We reported on Monday that West Ham were NOT out of the race for Barnes.
But Spurs had looked to be a real problem for the Hammers, with Ange Postecoglou also rumoured to be interested.
Last month journalist Matt Law had claimed West Ham were leading the race for Barnes, but warned Tottenham were also circling.

West Ham beware because what £35m star Harvey Barnes and his camp have said privately will have Spurs on red alert too
Both The Telegraph and talkSPORT have since claimed West Ham were closing in on beating bitter rivals Spurs and the likes of Newcastle and Villa to the exciting capture of Barnes.
There was bad news for West Ham and Tottenham last week with the likes of The Telegraph reporting that Newcaste had all but sealed a deal for the 25-year-old.
Those reports jumped the gun, though, and Newcastle have since been linked with two alternative targets to give West Ham and Tottenham hope.
Claims made about the winger in a new report yesterday sparked excitement in West Ham circles.
But West Ham beware because what £35m star Barnes and his camp have said privately will have Spurs on red alert too.

It’s a London thing for Barnes but that’s not just good news for Hammers as Spurs lurk
Because it was reported that Barnes prefers a move to London.
In an exclusive story, Football League World claims sources close to Barnes and his camp told them the player wants a move to London.
The article states that is a boost for West Ham’s hopes of landing one of David Moyes’ prime targets.
But it will come as welcome news to Tottenham and Postecoglu too.
Channels of communication are already wide open between Spurs and Leicester after Daniel Levy paid the Foxes £40m for James Maddison.
Tottenham’s interest in Barnes is reiterated in the FLW report.

West Ham could still have the edge over Spurs with Europe and assurances over being a guaranteed starter
If Barnes does favour a move to London then it will be a straight shootout between West Ham and Spurs.
The Hammers could still have the edge of their rivals, though.
Because West Ham can offer Europa League football whereas Spurs are not in Europe.
Barnes – with his pace, direct running and finishing prowess – would also be a guaranteed starter for West Ham.
That would not be the case at Tottenham where he would be competing with the brilliant Son Heung-min, Richarlison AND now brand new signing Manor Solomon on the left.
