West Ham United have entered talks to sign Duje Caleta-Car after the Marseille centre-back flew to London today.
That’s according to a report from French publication L’Equipe who claim that the 25-year-old defender is currently in negotiations with West Ham and Southampton about a potential move to the Premier League form Ligue 1.

Foot Mercato recently claimed that the Croatian international could be available for just €10 million (£8.6 million).
David Moyes has been a really busy man in the transfer market already this summer.
The Scot has signed eight new players so far, including two centre-backs, a defensive midfielder, a left winger, a centre-forward, a midfield play-maker, a left wing-back and a goalkeeper.

However, it seems as though Moyes is far from finished in his player recruitment, with deadline day now upon us.
And the addition of another centre-back could be on the Scot’s radar by all accounts.
West Ham in talks to sign Duje Caleta-Car
L’Equipe reckon that the fight for the 25-year-old’s signature is now between West Ham and Southampton.
The Hammers have allegedly entered negotiations to sign Caleta-Car.
We think that for around £8.6 million, the Croatian would be a very smart addition for West Ham.
The 25-year-old is tall and commanding in the air and very comfortable with the ball at his feet as well. He is a very strong all-round defender and he would improve the Hammers’ back-line immeasurably. Well-renowned football analysis and scouting website IBWM recently described Caleta-Car as an ‘exceptional talent’.

With the Ligue 1 outfit now demanding just £8.6 million for the 25-year-old centre-back, Moyes can’t afford to miss out on him, given the fact that Craig Dawson appears to be heading out the door.
Duje Caleta-Car would be a great signing for West Ham on transfer deadline day.
Whether we are able to beat Southampton to his signature remains to be seen though.
