West Ham United and Leeds United could be set to battle it out for the signing of Bordeaux striker Alberth Elis this summer.
That’s according to a report from Diario Diez who claim that both West Ham and Leeds want to sign the 26-year-old striker before the start of the new season.

Elis can be a real handful and seems to be tailor-made for the Premier League.
Both West Ham and Leeds desperately needs to sign a proven centre-forward in the summer.

And the Honduran is seemingly a target for the two Premier League clubs…
West Ham and Leeds set for striker battle
Diario Diez claim that Bordeaux have received multiple offered for Alberth Elis.
West Ham and Leeds are both name-checked as clubs that want to sign the striker.
RMC Sport reckon that the 26-year-old striker could be picked up for just £10 million in the summer transfer window.
For that price, we think he would be a great addition for West Ham.
Now, the Honduran isn’t an out and out striker. He is actually a winger by trade, although he can operate through the middle as a centre-forward.
Elis was in fine form for Boavista in the 2020/21 season. He racked up eight goals and seven assists in 31 league games (Transfermarkt).
This season just gone, he has bagged nine goals and one assist in 20 games for Bordeaux during a loan spell with the French side (Transfermarkt).

The Honduran possesses blistering pace and plays with a certain kind of directness that could make him a real asset for West Ham. £10.3 million for the Boavista man seems like decent value.
He has acquired the nickname ‘The Little Panther’ having donned a Black Panther mask on numerous occasions after scoring.
MLS Soccer once described Elis as a ‘powerhouse’ forward.
The 26-year-old would be a very solid addition for either West Ham or Leeds this summer.
The Hammers and the Whites are crying out for a strong, physical and pacy front-man.
And it will be intriguing to see whether West Ham or Leeds win the Honduras international striker battle.
