West Ham have been keeping tabs on Manchester City youngster James McAtee according to a report from The Athletic.
This comes after Brighton allegedly had an £8 million bid for the 18-year-old rejected by Man City (The Athletic).
West Ham boss David Moyes suggested only yesterday that his priority is to bring the very best young British talent to the London Stadium (Football.London).
And McAtee fits right into that category. The teenager is very highly rated at the Etihad.
The fact that Pep Guardiola won’t sell him for £8 million says all we need to know about his talent.
West Ham allegedly keen to sign Manchester City starlet James McAtee
That’s according to The Athletic who suggest that the Hammers are keeping tabs on the super talented teenager.
McAtee has made one senior appearance for City – an 18 minute cameo during a Carabao Cup game.
He has really excelled for Manchester City’s youth teams. The 18-year-old has bagged 35 goals and 24 assists in just 70 games for City’s under-18’s and under-23’s (Transfermarkt).
The left-footed attacking midfielder possesses exceptional technique and is very similar to Phil Foden in playing style.
The Manchester Evening News highlighted that similarity recently.
Quite how much Manchester City will demand for McAtee remains to be seen.
He is certainly someone West Ham should be going all out to sign, whatever the price.
