That’s good news for Hammers manager David Moyes. The Scot is in desperate need of a top-class leader at the back.

The Athletic claim that the 30-year-old could now be Hammers bound imminently.

Signing an experienced international may well be a smart move from Moyes – especially someone who is well-renowned for being a leader.

And £30 million seems like a fair price for the 57-capped England international.

Maguire should suit West Ham down to the ground. He excels when playing as part of a back three – especially one that operates as a deep backline.

The Man United defender is one of the very best around when it comes to winning headers and clearing up at the back.

And if we manage to get a deal for Maguire over the line before this weekend, I will fancy our chances against Bournemouth much more than I currently do!
