A verbal agreement means Man United have beaten West Ham boss David Moyes and Spurs to the sensational free transfer of Christian Eriksen.
Bitter rivals West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a summer move for Eriksen.
Football Insider claims Tottenham made their move to re-sign Eriksen following his sensational short spell at Brentford last season.

And just last week The Daily Mail (print edition June 21st, page 66) claimed the Hammers also tabled an official offer to sign the 30-year-old.
A report from 90 Min at the end of April claimed Eriksen’s old club Tottenham were leading West Ham and the Bees in the race to sign the Dane this summer.
Hammers boss Moyes admitted he had an interest in Eriksen after West Ham were offered the chance to sign the brilliant playmaker before Thomas Frank brought his fellow Dane to Brentford instead.

Speaking to the Daily Star, Moyes noted that Eriksen could have been a West Ham player but admitted there was uncertainty at the time about his health.
“Yes, he was mentioned to us – and to a few clubs about coming back,” said Moyes.
“Eriksen is a player a lot of people would look at and think, ‘my goodness’. But I think everybody was more unsure then. And to be honest there’s the huge Danish connection at Brentford, with the manager and some of their players…
“But I don’t think we ever doubted his footballing ability. Everybody recognises he’s a top footballer,” he added.

Moyes is desperate to bring in a new central midfielder following the retirement of Mark Noble and the departure of loan flop Alex Kral.
Tottenham have plenty of central midfield options, especially having signed Yves Bissouma, but lack a creative force in that area of the pitch.
But there is bad news for West Ham and Tottenham today.
Because a verbal agreement has seen Man United beat West Ham boss Moyes and Spurs to sensational free transfer of Eriksen.

Verbal agreement: Man United beat West Ham boss David Moyes and Spurs to sensational free transfer of Christian Eriksen
That’s according to an exclusive from The Athletic’s David Ornstein.
The journalist claims Eriksen has verbally agreed to join Manchester United as a free agent.
“The 30-year-old playmaker has communicated desire to play for Man United and accept a three-year deal,” Ornstein states.
“Contract needs to be finalised and medical conducted before move complete.”

It tallies with the fact West Ham reportedly submitted a bid for new central midfield target Amadou Onana over the weekend.
So it seems another one bites the dust for the Hammers as another top six rival strengthens considerably.
But with Man United involved it was always going to be an uphill task for West Ham – or Spurs for that matter – to convince Eriksen to sign.
