West Ham could move for Manchester United defender Eric Bailly if a deal for Thilo Kehrer proves to be too difficult.
That’s according to transfer insider Dean Jones who has told GiveMeSport that the 28-year-old Manchester United defender is still very much on the Hammers’ radar.

Bringing a top-class central defender to the London Stadium now seems to be the number one priority for David Moyes.

If the Hammers miss out on the German though, Moyes apparently has a very solid backup plan…
West Ham eyeing Eric Bailly swoop
Transfer insider Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport that the Hammers could try to prise the Ivorian away from Manchester United this summer:
“Eric Bailly at Man United is one they have been looking at. It still might be one that they turn back to if they weren’t to get Kehrer.”
Man United signed the 28-year-old from Villarreal in 2016 for around £30m (BBC). The Red Devils are reportedly now asking for just £6.7 million for the centre-back (Calcio Mercato).
Despite struggling for Manchester United at times, he’s still a very good player and has all of the attributes needed to succeed at the very highest level.

The Sun recently described Bailly as a ‘brilliant’ defender and on his day, he is certainly one of the very best around.
The 28-year-old stands at 6ft 2in tall, is strong in the air and in the challenge and is very quick along the ground.
One word of warning is that he lacks concentration sometimes but who knows, perhaps that’s because he needs a fresh start under a new manager.
£6.7 million for a player with Bailly’s quality seems like a fantastic bargain.
And if West Ham do miss out on Thilo Kehrer, we’d be more than happy with Eric Bailly as a backup option.
