Paul Merson has made his prediction for the Nottingham Forest vs West Ham United clash at the City Ground on Sunday.
The Hammers lost our first game of the season against Manchester City last weekend whilst Nottingham Forest suffered the same fate away at Newcastle.

So the game on Sunday is an important one for both sides.
West Ham manager David Moyes has made some fine signings this summer including the likes of Gianluca Scamacca and Maxwel Cornet. And both players should feature against Forest.

The Hammers are very weak in central defence at the moment, however, with Kurt Zouma currently our only fit senior centre-back.
Nottingham Forest may well be licking their lips and newly promoted teams always seem to put on a show in their first home game of the season.
So will the East Midlands outfit cause the Hammers problems?
Paul Merson makes Forest vs West Ham prediction
It should be an absolute cracker on Sunday afternoon.
Well-renowned football pundit Merson was speaking to Sportskeeda and predicted that the Hammers will just have enough to leave the City Ground with maximum points:

“These are two teams that lost their first matches of the season. I thought Forest were well beaten. I’ve mentioned before that Lingard will have to get used to situations where he won’t have the ball. They’ve bought him for matches like this, and he’ll need to step up. It’s going to be a hard Premier League season for Forest. Bournemouth won their first game and Fulham got a result against Liverpool, but Forest were outplayed by Newcastle. They’re a good club with a good manager and I hope it works out for them. This is Forest’s first home game in the Premier League after a lorryload of years, and they’ll need to put on a show. They might get caught up in the emotion, and I think West Ham will catch them on the counter. I think West Ham will do well. They need to forget about last week’s defeat – when Man City are hot, they’ll win against everybody. West Ham are among the top seven teams in the league and should be able to win this game.”
Prediction: Nottingham Forest 1-2 West Ham United
We would obviously take that all day long.
Hopefully Moyes gives the new boys Scamacca and Cornet a chance to impress from the start.
Three points will be absolutely vital for the Hammers.
And Paul Merson clearly thinks that is what we’ll get after he made his prediction for the game.
