Report claims West Ham have just made official £10.2 million bid for Jakub Kiwior

West Ham United have allegedly just lodged a €12 million (£10.2 million) bid for versatile Spezia ace Jakub Kiwior.

That’s according to well-renowned Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio who claims that Hammers boss David Moyes is very keen indeed to bring the 22-year-old to the London Stadium this summer.

Moyes desperately needs to address his central defensive problems before the transfer window slams shut in around three weeks time.

Nayef Aguerd is out injured for the foreseeable future whilst Issa Diop has been sold to Fulham.

Meanwhile, Angelo Ogbonna is a long way off being ready to play 90 minutes in the Premier League. And it seems as though Moyes has someone in particular in mind…

West Ham make Jakub Kiwior bid

Gianluca Di Marzio claims that the 22-year-old is a transfer target for the Hammers.

In fact, the Italian journalist suggests that West Ham have actually made a £10.2 million offer for the two-capped Poland international.

For that kind of money, Kiwior wouldn’t be a bad signing but we have to say, Moyes really should be setting his sights a lot higher than the Spezia defender.

The 22-year-old can operate as a defensive midfielder as well though, and that versatility will obviously appeal to Moyes.

In 22 Serie A appearances last season, Kiwior averaged 2.3 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 2.2 clearances per game (Who Scored).

The Polish ace stands at 6ft 2in tall and is very energetic and mobile.

The Spezia defender is a proper athlete but it must be said that he is totally unproven in the Premier League. Players a lot better than Kiwior have arrived in the Premier League and failed to succeed.

West Ham signing Jakub Kiwior wouldn’t be the worse move in the world.

We strongly believe that the Hammers could do a lot better than the Spezia defender, however.
