Tottenham are reportedly favourites to sign the perennially West Ham linked Franck Kessie in the January transfer window.
That’s according to a report from Spanish publication Sport who claim that Tottenham are leading the race to sign the Barcelona midfielder this winter.
West Ham manager David Moyes has been chasing Kessie for years now.
The 25-year-old is a truly exceptional midfielder. Kessie is strong, a tenacious tackler and has real energy and drive. He seems to be tailor made for the robust and intense nature of the Premier League.
He has been described as a ‘superb’ player by Forbes. I would absolutely love to see David Moyes bring Kessie to the London Stadium in the January transfer window.
The Scot will have a huge problem on his hands now though, with Spurs manager Antonio Conte allegedly keen to bring him to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium…
Tottenham favourites to sign Franck Kessie in January
Sport claim that Spurs are leading the race to sign the Ivory Coast international from Barcelona in the January transfer window.
Tottenham winning the race for Kessie would be a major statement from Conte and co, and it would be a huge blow to West Ham at the same time.
The Barcelona midfielder really does have everything needed to succeed in English football.
He has experienced a tough time with the La Liga giants though, and a fresh start in January seems to be on the cards for him.
With Tomas Soucek having experienced a woeful dip in form, and Declan Rice’s future at the London Stadium far from certain, signing a top-class central midfielder will be one of Moyes’s main priorities over the course of the next year or so.
Kessie would be the ideal signing for the Hammers in my opinion, what with his power and ability to control games from the middle of the park.
Tottenham are seemingly favourites to sign Franck Kessie though.
And if Conte brings the Ivorian to north London, the West Ham fans will be left wondering what might have been, had Moyes acted faster.
