Football.London’s Tottenham journalist Alasdair Gold has made a Djed Spence claim after West Ham United rumours recently emerged.

Hammers boss David Moyes allegedly wants to bring Spence, 22, to the London Stadium from Tottenham in the January transfer window.

It’s no surprise that West Ham might want the Tottenham defender, because Moyes desperately needs to bring a top-class right-back to West Ham before the end of this month.

Vladimir Coufal has regressed badly over the past year, as has Ben Johnson.

I believe that Spurs ace Spence would be absolutely perfect for West Ham. It appears as though there is some bad news for the Hammers though…

Spurs journalist Alasdair Gold was discussing there 22-year-old’s current situation in North London, when writing a piece for Football.London.

Gold listed numerous clubs who are interested in signing him – five in fact. Leicester City, Brentford, Crystal Palace, Southampton and Bayer Leverkusen are all said to be chasing the Tottenham defender’s signature.

Unfortunately for West Ham, we were not one of them. That’s such a shame because I feel as though Spence in the right-back or wing-back position would take us on to a whole new level entirely.

It must be said though – why are we not one of the teams in the race to sign Spence? I get the history between the Hammers and Spurs. The last man to make a transfer between the two clubs was Scott Parker 12 years ago.

With the 22-year-old seemingly surplus to requirements in north London though, Moyes really should be pushing them hard about signing him in the January transfer window.

Tottenham right-back Djed Spence is absolutely perfect for West Ham in my opinion. As things stand though, a move to the London Stadium seems unlikely for the Spurs man.
