West Ham United are reportedly interested in signing Djed Spence from Tottenham Hotspur in the January transfer window.
That’s according to a report form Football.London who claim that the Hammers could face competition from Bayer Leverkusen, Southampton and Crystal Palace for the 22-year-old Tottenham man.

Ironically, Spence actually snubbed West Ham to join Tottenham from Middlesbrough in the summer transfer window.
Big things were expected of the talented young right-back when he linked up with Antonio Conte at Spurs.

However, things haven’t worked out of him one little bit with Tottenham. Spence has been given just 41 minutes of action by Conte, with the Italian having frozen him out at the north London club.
An exit from the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium seems almost inevitable this month, but his next club may well end up being a surprise…
West Ham eye Djed Spence swoop
Football.London claim that the Hammers could swoop in to sign the 22-year-old right-back this winter.
Now, the Hammers and Spurs doing business is almost unheard of.
The last time a transfer was conducted between the two clubs was when Scott Parker swapped east London for north London back in 2011 for around £5 million.

If West Ham are to have a chance fo signing any Tottenham player though, Spence might just be our best shot. Conte is clearly not a fan of the London-born right-back and it would be no surprise to see the Italian ship him out.
We are not a threat to Spurs in the league this season either.
The real question here is do West Ham really need to be signing Spence? His attitude is questionable at best.
Spence’s Twitter jibe at Neil Warnock in the summer was un-called for. Warnock was the manager who allowed him to leave Middlesbrough to join Nottingham Forest on loan last season. He was clearly taking a dig at the experienced manager by suggesting that he is in fact good enough to play Premier League Football.
Aside from that though, Spence has everything that we lack in the right-back department. He is absolutely rapid, has energy and dynamism in abundance and offers just as much in the final third as he does defensively.
Djed Spence would be a massive upgrade on Vladimir Coufal at West Ham. And despite his questionable attitude, I think that the Tottenham defender would be worth the punt for the Hammers.
