Tottenham Hotspur are threatening to beat West Ham United to one of our key transfer targets in the January window.

The upcoming January transfer window will be vitally important for both Tottenham and West Ham this winter.

Hammers boss David Moyes is desperately on the hunt for a new striker, with PSG front-man Hugo Ekitike being heavily linked with a move to the London Stadium this winter.

Meanwhile, Spurs boss Ange Postecoglou is looking for a proven forward as well, to complete his very impressive squad.

It seems as though the two London rivals could be set to battle it out for the same player.

Dominic Solanke is a striker believed to be on the West Ham radar, but Moyes could have his work cut-out now in the race for the 26-year-old’s signature.

Tottenham eyeing West Ham target in January transfer window

According to a report from the Sun, Spurs are ‘closely watching’ Solanke ahead of the January window.

Tottenham beating West Ham to the in-form striker’s signature would be a major blow for us.

The 26-year-old has been in stunning form for Bournemouth so far this season, with 12 goals in 18 Premier League games to his name (Transfermarkt).

Solanke is behind only Erling Haaland in the Premier League goalscoring charts this season, and he looks like the real deal now.

The Bournemouth ace would be the perfect striker for West Ham and the way that Moyes sets up his team.

He is always willing to make tireless runs into the channels, freeing up space for his teammates in the process.

The main problem for the Hammers is that the Cherries are said to be demanding around £50 million for the 26-year-old striker this winter (Daily Mail). That’s a serious lot of money for West Ham to even consider spending in January.

And to make matters even worse, now Tottenham are eyeing up a January transfer window move for Solanke. I just can’t see us signing the red-hot striker unfortunately. It may well be back to the drawing board for Moyes in his search for the perfect striker for his system.
