Hammers striker Callum Marshall has told exciting wonderkid compatriot Sean Moore that a move to West Ham will change his life.

West Ham officially have the oldest squad in the Premier League and it has showed on the pitch for much of a torrid season.

Many fans are wondering what has happened to the Red Bull model David Moyes vowed to implement at West Ham when he returned to east London over three years ago.

Especially since the arrival of Hammers head of recruitment Rob Newman, whose remit at Man City was scouting young overseas talent.

Well it seems West Ham are actively looking to push for young stars to add to the serious emerging talent already at the club.

It was reported last month that West Ham have already secured their first signing of the summer with a deal for winger Northern Ireland attacker Sean Moore close to being agreed for £500k.

And it sounds like this could be quite the coup for West Ham.

The Irons are said to have beaten a host of other clubs to land the gifted young star.

The list of English and Scottish clubs that wanted to sign Moore ran into double figures with three of them said to be Everton, Brighton and Newcastle.

Ahead of his expected move to West Ham, Moore was named the league’s young player of the year at an awards ceremony recently.

Goal machine Marshall, who West Ham poached from Linfield last year, has scored 21 goals in 22 games for West Ham’s academy this season. And he notched in West Ham Under-18s’ stunning 5-1 win over Arsenal in the FA Youth Cup final.

Marshall was one of three players from Northern Ireland on show in that prestigious game. And now he is giving a move to West Ham the big sell to another in the shape of Moore ahead of his expected arrival in the summer.

“He (Moore) got Young Player of the Year which was a great achievement and as good as the Irish League is as a stepping stone, when you come to England and break into a team it can be life changing,” Marshall told The Belfast Telegraph.

“I would say to any young player if you are good enough and you back yourself then why wouldn’t you come over? It’s worked out well for me that I would encourage other players to follow my path, including Sean.”
