Sky Sports has made a big West Ham transfer claim about Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone ahead of the January window.
With Mohammed Kudus off to AFCON – possibly until mid-February – and Michail Antonio, who turns 34 in March, still out injured – West Ham need a forward.
Not only for the short but the long term too.
David Moyes occasionally switches Kudus and Lucas Paqueta with Jarrod Bowen to play up top.
And the Brazilian magnifico has also picked up a knee injury to expose the lack of quality in depth in the forward area.
Moyes confirmed after the win over Arsenal that the injuries and AFCON means he will be looking to add in the January transfer window.

Sky Sports makes West Ham Simeone claim
West Ham have been linked with a host of forwards.
And one striker with a very famous dad who has been regularly linked with the Hammers looks to be very much available.
Sky Sports has made a West Ham transfer claim about Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone.
The Napoli forward is the son of Atletico Madrid boss Diego.
Calciomercato reported last year that West Ham wanted to sign the Argentina international.
And now Sky Sports has name-checked the Hammers in a report claiming Simeone wants to leave Napoli in January.

‘Striker wants out of Napoli’
The report says that has ‘put Premier League clubs wanting a striker on watch’.
“It is understood the Argentina international is planning to ask for an exit when he holds talks with his club in the next few days,” Sky Sports reports.
“That move is certain to alert clubs from across Europe, including in the Premier League, where a number of teams have tracked his progress since his days at Hellas Verona…
“Despite more than two years remaining on his contract, Simeone’s patience is running out and he feels it might be time to find another club.
“West Ham and Newcastle have been interested in the past, along with Borussia Dortmund, Eintracht Frankfurt, Villarreal, Sevilla and Real Betis.”
Simeone has made just four starts for Napoli this season, scoring two goals.
Meanwhile, the entourage of another West Ham striker target – Hugo Ekitike – have pleaded for a move to help the PSG outcast’s mental health.
