Sky Sports has made a hugely conflicting new claim about West Ham deals for Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals.

It looks set to be a frantic last 36 hours of the January transfer window for West Ham.

And with that will undoubtedly come lots of conflicting information from various sources and outlets for Hammers fans to unpick.

West Ham are looking to offload both Said Benrahma and Pablo Fornals as they look to bring in Ibrahim Osman and Jota.

The departures of Benrahma and Fornals looked all but done and dusted last night according to reports.

Sky Sports’ hugely conflicting new claim about deals

Overnight it was reported in France that West Ham had agreed a rather disappointing loan deal with Lyon to ship out Benrahma.

According to the report, Lyon will pay West Ham a £4.5m loan fee. But there is no obligation to buy, only an option set at just £8.5m.

Hammers fans have been saying their goodbyes to Benrahma and Fornals, who it was reported yesterday was all set to leave for Real Betis.

The Spaniard was expected to seal a return to his homeland today or tomorrow.

Obviously offloading both is in West Ham’s interests when it comes to bringing in signings of their own.

But now Sky Sports has made a hugely conflicting new claim about West Ham deals for Benrahma and Fornals.

Fresh Benrahma and Fornals claim made

In breaking news on Sky Sports’ Good Morning Transfers show this morning, reporter James Savundra claims the Benrahma deal actually has an obligation to buy set at £15m.

But the ball is now in Benrahma’s court and it’s up to him to decide Savundra states.

In the same update, the Sky Sports man also revealed West Ham have actually rejected what was described as an “opening bid” from Betis for Fornals.

“Lyon have agreed a deal with the Hammers for the signing of Said Benrahma,” Savundra said on Good Morning Transfers at 9.22am.

“The deal is a loan with an obligation to buy for a fee of over £15m. It’s now up to Benrahma to decide if he wants to make the move or not.

“Now Real Betis are expected to make an improved bid for Pablo Fornals. West Ham rejected their opening bid. He’s been there since 2019, he wants the move, 18 months left on his contract, only started four Premier League matches so far this season.”
