Lucas Paqueta and Guido Rodriguez will be leaving West Ham permanently in the January transfer window.

Guido will be moving to Valencia on a free transfer, with the Hammers expected to terminate his contract.

Paqueta will also finally leave West Ham for good as an agreement has been struck with Brazilian club Flamengo.

Where do YOU think it went wrong for Guido Rodriguez? 🇦🇷

And is letting him go the right move?

Guido Rodriguez of West Ham United looks on during the Premier League match between West Ham United and Brentford at London Stadium on October 20, 2025 in London, England.

The duo will follow a host of players out the door at the London Stadium, in what has been a busy transfer window.

Lucas Paqueta has been on £187.5k/week wages at West Ham

According to Capology, Paqueta has been pocketing wages of £187.5k every week at the Hammers.

He did get pay rises after his move there, but it goes without saying that he is one of their top earners at the club.

How many points would West Ham have taken from their last two games if Lucas Paqueta had been playing? 🤔

Maybe I’m harsh, but I just don’t think he suits this team anymore…

Had he been leaving at the end of the season, West Ham would have owed him another £4.1million in wages as his deal would run out at the end of June.

With regards to Guido, he is earning £93.7k/week currently, and if he stayed until the end of the season, he would make north of £2million.

However, with both players expected to leave in the coming days, the Irons will be saving £6.1million in wages.

To add to that, they will also be pocketing north of £35million from Paqueta’s sale to Flamengo.

Who will West Ham sign next ahead of the January transfer window deadline?

The Hammers have already roped in Pablo and Taty Castellanos this month, but work is left to be done on other deals.

Adama Traore is the next player West Ham are expected to sign, as Nuno Espirito Santo is keen on a reunion.

With Paqueta leaving, Nuno wants another wide attacker, which is why he has turned to the Spanish winger.

Plans are also afoot to bring in a new defender to the London Stadium in the coming days.

It is unlikely that Charlie Cresswell will be moving to West Ham due to increased competition and the seeming lack of urgency on all ends to make that deal happen.

However, there are other centre-backs being considered, and one of them is expected to join before the window closes.
