A respected South American football expert has doubled down on a big Lucas Paqueta claim that will excite everyone connected with West Ham.
A rollercoaster 48 hours has seen West Ham on the verge of one of the club’s most exciting transfers for years.
According to the likes of L’Equipe and Sky Sports, the Hammers have agreed a club record £50m plus deal to sign Brazil international Paqueta from Lyon.

Fabrizio Romano says West Ham are making urgent arrangements to get Paqueta to London for his medical this weekend to get the deal done and dusted.
West Ham have a track record of snatching defeat from the jaws of victory when it comes to transfers.
So Hammers fans are understandably trying to contain their excitement until they see Paqueta holding up a West Ham shirt – particularly with Liverpool now launching an 11th hour hunt for a top class midfielder.
But it does indeed seem that West Ham are fast closing on a new club record move for the 25-year-old.

Respected South American football expert doubles down on big Lucas Paqueta claim that will excite West Ham
There are few more qualified to talk about players from South America than Tim Vickery – the self-styled expert on football from that area of the world.
Vickery, an English freelance football journalist who has lived in Brazil since 1994, is the South American football correspondent for outlets such as BBC Sport, ESPN, talkSPORT and Sky Sports.
He is often the go-to man when Premier League clubs are linked with South American players.

As reported by Hammers News this week, Vickery told West Ham fans they should be ‘very, very excited’ about the arrival of ‘classy, quality’ Paqueta – even if he does have a tendency to be petulant and showboat.
Now the respected South American football expert has doubled down on his big Paqueta claim that will excite West Ham.
“Really looking forward to seeing Lucas Paqueta in the Premier League,” Vickery said on Twitter.
“An old school West Ham player.
“Might give Moyes some work, but a worthy addition to the club of Trevor Brooking.”

Make no mistake, Vickery is the oracle when it comes to South American football.
His opinion carries weight.
So the fact he is backing Paqueta to fit right in at West Ham – where fans have been craving a magical talent since the departure of Dimitri Payet five and a half years ago – is hugely exciting indeed.
