A reporter close to David Sullivan has floated the possibility of West Ham re-signing ex star Jesse Lingard for free.
Desperation and the January transfer window are never a good combination.
But as the injuries mount and time ticks down on the window clock, West Ham will grow ever more desperate.
So desperate the idea of Jesse Lingard returning to the London Stadium is back on the agenda.
That’s the opinion of Hugh Southon of Claret and Hugh.
The reporter close to David Sullivan has floated the possibility of West Ham re-signing ex star Lingard for free this month.
The former Hammers loan hero has barely kicked a ball for 18 months. And he has been training out in Dubai this week alongside West Ham midfielder Pablo Fornals in a bid to keep his fitness up.

Reporter close to Sullivan floats Lingard possibility
That was always going to spark rumours Lingard could finally make a return to West Ham after a stint with the club in the summer failed to result in a short-term deal.
Many West Ham fans have grown tired of the Lingard saga.
But Southon has stated that the injuries to Jarrod Bowen, Lucas Paqueta and Michail Antonio – along with the absence of Mohammed Kudus at AFCON until next month may change the situation.
Southon asked the question ‘Is Lingard a Hammers option’ last night.
And while he said he hopes that won’t be the case, he pointed out West Ham’s situation and lack of progress on signings could mean he might be.
Southon also says he has asked his Hammers contacts whether Lingard could be back on the radar.

Window clock is TikTok’ing
“Is Jesse Lingard a Hammers option given the growing injury and absence crisis…” the report states.
“We have asked the question of contacts at the club but still await a reply…
“The image has emerged from Dubai and of course shows the Hammer Pablo Fornals and former loanee Lingard suggesting that it may indeed be holiday time for the Hammers squad. The other question may be more worrying should the Irons be perhaps considering a move for the midfielder given the growing problems at the club.
“It didn’t happen (in the summer) and I for one am hoping it doesn’t this time around if that is what is going on! Given the club has admitted they are not close to doing a deal (for any signings) – as reported here – we hope that’s the case but Lingard nonetheless would be a cheap option on a pay as you play deal.”
One person who is definitely fed up of the Lingard situation is his former Man United teammate Paul Scholes.
The legendary midfielder ripped into Lingard this week after he posted pictures training in the gym in Dubai.
