Report: West Ham will try to sign current Hammer's 'excellent' £12 million ex-teammate

West Ham are set to battle it out with Tottenham for the signing of Hull City star Keane Lewis-Potter in the summer transfer window.

That’s according to a report from the Daily Mail who claims that the 21-year-old forward will be available for upwards of £12 million this summer.

Hammers boss David Moyes needs to freshen up his attacking ranks at the London Stadium this summer.

Andriy Yarmolenko will probably be released and the addition of a young and versatile attacking player with pace will be an absolute must before the start of next season.

And it seems as though David Moyes has a plan up his sleeve…

West Ham chasing Hull City ace Lewis-Potter

The Daily Mail claims that the Hammers are leading the chase for the young Hull forward alongside Tottenham.

The 21-year-old is exactly the kind of player West Ham should be looking to sign in the summer transfer window.

Lewis-Potter is a really bright young talent. He has bagged eight goals and four assists in 39 Championship outings for Hull so far this season (Transfermarkt).

Last season, he racked up 13 goals and six assists in 43 league games (Transfermarkt).

Hull boss Grant McCann recently described the talented 20-year-old as an ‘excellent player’ (Hull’s official website).

The young star most plays out on the left wing but he can play anywhere along the front-line.

The 21-year-old is a real live-wire, has impressive pace and is a very good finisher. In many ways, he is similar to his old teammate Jarrod Bowen.

£12 million seems like a very reasonable price to pay for Lewis-Potter. Even £15 million would be decent value.

We would be delighted if Moyes brought the young attacker to the London Stadium from Hull in the summer. He certainly has the talent needed to emulate his former teammate Jarrod Bowen.

Lewis-Potter his currently on international duty with England under-21s. So he clearly is very highly rated within the game.

The 21-year-old would be a superb addition for West Ham United in the summer transfer window.
