That’s according to a report from Foot Mercato who claim that the Hammers could face competition from Newcastle for the talented 22-year-old forward’s signature this summer.

West Ham manager David Moyes is a long-term admirer of Gouiri.

Get French Football News recently described Gouiri as a ‘sensational’ striker. And he could be available for around €45 million (£38 million) in the summer (One Football).

Moyes has already bolstered his attacking ranks this summer by bringing Gianluca Scamacca to the London Stadium.

It appears as though the Scot is far from done in his quest to bring in more competition for Michail Antonio though…

West Ham very keen to sign Amine Gouiri

Foot Mercato reckon that the Hammers are desperate to bring the 22-year-old striker to the London Stadium.

We may well have our work cut-out though, with Nice manager Lucien Favre reluctant to let the striker leave.

Moyes really should be pushing the boat out to sign the young Frenchman though, he really is a spectacular player.

Gouiri has pace in abundance, unbelievable movement and is a constant menace for opposing defenders. And he clearly has truly incredible technical ability has well.

The French attacker bagged an impressive 12 goals and 10 assists in 43 games for Nice last season. He’s far from a one-season wonder either with 16 goals and eight assists to his name in 41 outings during the previous campaign (Transfermarkt).

The Nice star can play anywhere along the front-line and that versatility will undoubtedly appeal to David Moyes.

At just 22, he will certainly continue to get better and better, as long as he applies himself correctly both on and off the pitch.

We would absolutely love to see Amine Gouiri join West Ham this summer.

Whether the Hammers board will be prepared to part with nearly £40 million for his services remains to be seen though.
