West Ham have already approached the agent of Niklas Stark about a potential move to sign the German on a free transfer in the summer.

That’s according to a report from German website Kicker who claims that the Hammers could sign the versatile Hertha Berlin ace on a free transfer in the summer.

Niklas Stark has operated mostly as a centre-back for Hertha Berlin this season. He can also play in the defensive midfield role, so it’s easy to see why Moyes might want to bring him to West Ham.

And it seems as though that’s exactly what the Hammers boss plans on doing…

West Ham eyeing stunning free transfer coup

Kicker claims that the Hammers have already made contact with the agent of the 26-year-old Hertha Berlin ace.

And we could sign him on a free transfer in just a few months time.

We think that Stark would be a superb signing for West Ham…especially on a free transfer.

Standing at 6ft 3in tall, the 26-year-old is a big and powerful defender. As mentioned earlier, he can operate a little further forward as well at the base of central midfield.

In 22 Bundesliga appearances so far this season, Stark has averaged 1.2 tackles, 1.5 interceptions, 5.3 clearances and 0.7 blocks per game. He has also won an average of 2.2 aerial duels per match (Who Scored).

The 26-year-old is pretty good with the ball at his feet as well. He’s averaged 44.3 passes per match and has recorded a completion rate of 82.4% (Who Scored).

Considering his quality and versatility, signing him in the summer on a free should be a no-brainer for West Ham.

Stark would certainly provide Moyes with a great additional option in two separate positions next season.
