West Ham United allegedly want to sign World Cup star Josip Juranovic from Celtic in the January transfer window.

That’s according to a report from 90 Min who claim that a move from the Hammers to sign the 27-year-old Celtic ace is contingent on selling Vladimir Coufal to Bayer Leverkusen first.

West Ham boss David Moyes is clearly keen to bolster his right-back ranks at the London Stadium in the January window.

Coufal has been really poor over the last 12 months, and has regressed badly.

The 30-year-old has been heavily linked with a January move to Bayer Leverkusen.

And if he does leave the Hammers, it seems as though David Moyes has a replacement lined up…

West Ham now want to sign ‘brilliant’ 27-year-old World Cup star

According to a report from 90 Min, the Hammers could make a move to sign Celtic ace Josip Juranovic in January.

The 23-capped Croatian international is currently starring for his country at the World Cup out in Qatar.

Celtic fansite 67 Hail Hail have described Juranovic as ‘brilliant’.

I think the Hoops ace would be a very solid addition for West Ham, albeit not a spectacular one.

Juranovic has bagged one goal and one assist in eight Scottish Premiership games for Celtic so far this season (Who Scored).

During those outings, the 27-year-old has averaged 1.1 tackles, 0.7 interceptions and one clearance per game (Who Scored).

The Croatian is a very solid operator, but I can’t help but feel that Moyes should be setting his sights a lot higher than the Celtic man.

The West Ham manager should be targeting young, powerful and explosive full-backs in order to align his team more to the modern day.

Juranovic would be a an upgrade on Coufal, there’s no doubting that. I just feel that the Hammers could be a tad more ambitious.

Full-backs have such an important role to play in the modern game, and I feel as though Moyes needs to get with the times a bit more when it comes to the players he is supposedly targeting to play in those specific roles.

West Ham allegedly want to sign World Cup star Juranovic in January, and it wouldn’t be the worst bit of business. It would be fairly underwhelming though.
