West Ham could sign Konstantinos Mavropanos for a bargain fee in the summer as the Arsenal owned ace continues to shine on loan with Stuttgart.

Hammers boss David Moyes will undoubtedly be on the look-out for a top-class centre-back in the summer and the Arsenal ace could be the answer for the Scot.

Angelo Ogbonna is out for the season with an ACL injury and he will be 34 before the start of the new season. Meanwhile, Issa Diop remains frustratingly inconsistent whilst Craig Dawson will soon be 32.

The addition of a proven centre-back will be an absolute must for West Ham in the summer transfer window and it seems as though someone who really struggled at Arsenal could be on our radar.

Konstantinos Mavropanos has been in sensational form for Stuttgart during his loan spell with the Bundesliga outfit this season.

The German side allegedly have a purchase option to buy the Greece international from Arsenal but if they are relegated from the Bundesliga, they could be forced to sell him on the cheap…

West Ham could raid Arsenal in the summer

Heidenheimer Zeitung claims that should Stuttgart go down this season, they could sell Mavropanos for just €12.5 million (£10.3 million) in the summer.

And there’s a very good chance that that could in fact happen.

Stuttgart are in a really perilous position at the moment. They are sitting second from bottom, four points adrift of safety.

It is clear that the 24-year-old will be leaving the Emirates this summer. Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta is obviously not keen on the Greek defender anyway.

And what a brilliant signing he would be for West Ham.

Mavropanos has been a real hit with Stuttgart. In 21 Bundesliga outings, he has scored four goals and averaged 1.9 tackles, 2.1 interceptions and 5.9 clearances per match. The Greek ace has also won an average of 2.8 aerial duels per game (Who Scored).

He is also pretty good with the ball at his feet. In 21 league outings this term, Mavropanos has made an average of 55.6 passes per game and has recorded an impressive completion rate of 80.2% (Who Scored).

£10.3 million for the 24-year-old would represent truly outstanding business for West Ham.

Sure, he struggled in the Premier League with Arsenal before. But he’s a more mature and better version of the player who had so many problems at the Emirates.

Mavropanos would be a huge hit at West Ham. And let’s hope we manage to get this one over the line in the summer.
