West Ham United are eyeing up a move to sign Bristol City starlet Alex Scott in the summer transfer window but it will take a big offer to sign him.
That’s according to a report from Bristol World but beware, it will take a ‘big, big offer’ to tempt the Robins into selling the talented 18-year-old.
David Moyes has been linked with a move to sign Scott previously (The Daily Mail).
There was fierce competition for Scott’s signature then and there is even more now, with Leeds and Tottenham joining the race for the talented teenager (Bristol World).
And the attacking midfielder certainly won’t come cheap this summer…
West Ham need to make a big offer for Alex Scott
Bristol City academy chief Brian Tinnion told Bristol World how it will take a big offer for any club that wants to prise Scott away from Ashton Gate:
“I’m sure when top young talent are performing well the big clubs look so we aren’t daft and we know that. He’s contracted to the football club and he’s got three years of a contract here. We want to keep our best players to build on what we are doing for the future. I’m sure it would have to take a big, big, big offer for Alex Scott to go anywhere.”
We think that the talented teenager would be a really exciting addition to Moyes’s ranks at West Ham.
Scott bagged four goals and two assists in 38 Championship games for the Robins last season (Transfermarkt).
The youngster is an attacking midfielder and seems to glide along the turf with grace and panache. He is very similar to Manchester City star Jack Grealish in the way that he goes about his business (Daily Mail).
Bristol City have a proven record of getting top dollar for the players they sell.
Brighton had to agree a club record £22m to prise Adam Webster away while Lloyd Kelly’s move to Bournemouth is worth up to £20m.
The likes of Josh Brownhill, Bobby Reid and Aiden Flint were also only allowed to leave Ashton Gate for significant fees.
In fact, Bristol World recently claimed that the attacking midfielder could cost anywhere up to £25 million.
So West Ham clearly need to make a very big offer indeed, if we really want to sign Alex Scott in the summer transfer window.
