Report claims West Ham can now sign Thilo Kehrer for unbelievable £17 million bargain fee

West Ham United allegedly could now sign Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer for a real bargain fee this summer.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Mail who claim that the Hammers could now sign the 25-year-old for just £17 million.

That’s £16 million less than PSG paid Schalke for Kehrer when they signed him from Schalke four years ago (The Guardian).

West Ham apparently opened talks to sign the 20-capped Germany international yesterday.

David Moyes desperately needs to bring a new centre-back to the London Stadium before this weekend’s trip to Forest.

Nayef Aguerd is still out injured whilst Angelo Ogbonna is nowhere near fully match fit. Meanwhile, Issa Diop looks to be close to joining Fulham (The Daily Mail).

And it seems as though Moyes has his eyes set on one man in particular…

West Ham can sign Thilo Kehrer for bargain fee

The Daily Mail reckon that the Hammers could pick up the 25-year-old for just £17 million this summer.

That would represent truly exceptional value for the East London outfit.

What a signing the German would be for West Ham. He can operate in either full-back positions as well!

Kehrer is absolutely rapid and is one of Germany’s fastest players according to Sport Mob. When he was at Schalke, the Bundesliga’s official website described him as a potentially ‘world-class’ player.

He’s a three time league winner, having enjoyed great success at Parc des Princes.

The 25-year-old is an exceptional passer of the football as well.

In 27 Ligue 1 appearances for PSG last season, he made an average of 43.1 passes per match and recorded an incredibly successful completion rate of 94.7% (Who Scored).

Standing at 6ft 1in tall, Kehrer isn’t the tallest of centre-backs, but he possesses an incredible leap, similar to that of Manchester City defender Nathan Ake.

The German’s ability to play in a variety of defensive positions will obviously appeal to David Moyes.

For just £17 million, Thilo Kehrer would be an unreal addition for West Ham in the summer transfer window.
