West Ham are in advanced talks to sign Barcelona forward Martin Braithwaite according to a report from Sport.

A €15 million (£12.8 million) transfer fee has allegedly been agreed.

Highly respected football journalist Fabrizio Romano has cast doubt over the claims, however:
Let’s hope Romano is spot on.
Hammers boss David Moyes could and should be doing a lot better than the 30-year-old Barcelona forward.
West Ham should avoid Braithwaite move
The 30-year-old journeyman striker has never produced the goods at the very highest level.

He is a decent forward, but nothing more than that.
The Barcelona forward has a really poor career goalscoring record. He has only 93 goals in 401 games to his name (Transfermarkt)! West Ham need to sign a proven goalscorer this summer.
David Moyes absolutely cannot be messing around with players who he ‘thinks’ might be able to do a job this season. The Hammers need the finished article.

And unfortunately, Martin Braithwaite certainly doesn’t fit into that category.
