West Ham United transfer target Youri Tielemans may have already agreed a deal to join Arsenal from Leicester City.

That’s according to a report from Marca (print edition December 5th, page 26) who claim that the 25-year-old midfielder could join Arsenal on a free transfer at the end of the season.

It may well be a busy transfer window ahead for David Moyes and Mikel Arteta, but it seems as though Tielemans won’t be moving until the summer.

Moyes allegedly wants to bring the Belgium international to the London Stadium.

The Scot now has his work cut-out massively though, with a move to the Gunners allegedly well advanced for the Leicester man.

Back to the drawing board it is then for Moyes!

Tielemans has agreed a deal to join Arsenal

Marca (print edition December 5th, page 26) reckon that the Belgian ace has already agreed a deal to join the Gunners on a free transfer next season.

Now, this report may be a little off. The deal couldn’t legally have happened, as he’s still under contract with Leicester.

He is free to sign a pre-contract agreement with club outside of Britain from January onwards.

Who knows though? Perhaps agents involved in the deal have have an unofficial agreement in place.

And if Tielemans does join Arsenal it will very much be their gain and West Ham and Leiecster’s loss – especially if he moves on a free transfer!

Tielemans is exactly the kind of midfielder that Moyes needs at the London Stadium.

The 25-year-old is a creative central midfielder with an exceptional range of passing. He is full of energy and has proven that he is very well suited to the English game.

Tielemans has bagged 27 goals and 25 assists in 175 games for Leicester (Transfermarkt).

The former Anderlecht and Monaco ace’s intelligence and awareness in possession will hugely improve the attacking play of whichever club wins the race for his signature.

The Belgian has been described as an ‘incredible’ player by Leicester City boss Brendan Rodgers (The Independent).

Meanwhile, The Analyst have labelled him as a ‘really gifted’ midfielder.

Tielemans has produced the goods for Leicester on a consistent basis but it’s clear that it’s time for a new challenge for him. A move to London may well be on the cards this summer.

Unfortunately for us though, it seems as though Arsenal are in pole position to sign the Leicester star on a free transfer.

And losing out on the 25-year-old will be a big blow for West Ham in my opinion.
