Juventus midfielder Arthur Melo is allegedly aware that West Ham United want to sign him in the summer transfer window.
That’s according to a report from Marca who claim that the Hammers could face competition from the likes of Arsenal and Valencia for the 25-year-old’s signature this summer.
It’s little wonder with the Scot so keen to bolster his central midfield ranks at the London Stadium.
West Ham have already signed Flynn Downes but the addition of another technically gifted player in the heart of midfield would not go a miss.
And it seems as though there is one man in particular on Moyes’s radar…
Arthur Melo on West Ham radar
According to a report from Marca, the 22-capped Brazil international is aware that the Hammers are keen to sign him this summer.
The Times reported at the end of last year that Juve could demand as much as £50 million for the 25-year-old. With the Turin giants being so desperate to move him on though, perhaps they will lower their demands.
And if West Ham could pick him up for around half that fee, we believe he’d be a strong addition to Moyes’s ranks this summer.
Arthur is a deep-lying play-maker by trade and he possesses stunning technical ability.
The former Barcelona ace’s passing is the best attribute he has. In 20 Serie A appearances last season, Arthur made 34.9 passes on average per game and recorded a completion rate of 89.7% (Who Scored).
West Ham signing Arthur Melo would be a big statement.
He has plenty of experience of playing at the very highest level and is a serial winner with two league titles, a Coppa Italia and a Copa Libertadores to his name.
Football Transfers recently described him as a ‘fantastic’ player.
Arthur Melo would provide West Ham boss Moyes with a completely different option in the middle of the park.
It remains to be seen whether we can pick him up for a reasonable fee this summer though.
