There has been a positive Amadou Onana development for West Ham United as Everton move for ‘tall Jack Wilshere’ wonderkid Adam Wharton.

West Ham have been heavily linked with Everton midfielder Amadou Onana of as a replacement for Declan Rice.

Fans will remember Everton came in at the 11th hour to beat the Hammers to the £33m signing of the Belgian last summer.

The Toffees swooped and offered Onana a greater guarantee of a starting spot and David Moyes reportedly pulled the plug on the move.

One year on Moyes remains interested after Onana impressed for his old club and showed the kind of leadership qualities West Ham will need when Rice departs.

Journalist Alan Nixon recently claimed Moyes was serious about signing Onana and said Everton are willing to sell to West Ham for right price.

Now Nixon has delivered an update which carries some exciting news for both clubs.

There is a positive Onana development for West Ham as Everton move for ‘tall Jack Wilshere’ wonderkid Adam Wharton.

Ironically West Ham have been linked with Blackburn Rovers star Wharton. It was claimed back in May that West Ham have been watching Wharton as a potential summer window signing.

But now he is firmly in Everton’s sights and that will be good news for West Ham’s hopes of signing Onana.

Wharton is described as a ‘taller Jack Wilshere, who can play and tackle’. He can also score too.

Reports have claimed a number of Premier League clubs had scouts watching Blackburn’s young side last season, including West Ham. And they have all come away ‘raving’ about Wharton.

Now Nixon claims Sean Dyche is pushing to make Wharton a major signing and that will expedite Onana’s departure.

The Sun journalist has once again stated West Ham’s interest. But he did reiterate claims that Onana may first hold out for a Champions League club.

“Everton boss Sean Dyche wants to win the race for Blackburn Rovers midfield diamond Adam Wharton,” Nixon reports on his Patreon site.

“Rovers would need around £15 million guaranteed for Wharton and Everton could go that far, particularly if they find a buyer for Amadou Onana…

“Meanwhile West Ham are keen on buying Onana but they are not being encouraged behind the scenes. The Belgian international may want to go to a club in the Champions League if he moves.”
