David Moyes is serious about signing Everton star Amadou Onana and they’re willing to sell to West Ham for right price claims a journalist.

As West Ham fans know only too well, Everton came in at the 11th hour to beat the Hammers to the £33m signing of Amadou Onana last summer.

The giant Belgian looked all set to sign for West Ham who had a bid accepted at the fourth time of asking.

But the Toffees came in, offered Onana a greater guarantee of a starting spot and David Moyes reportedly pulled the plug on the move.

Onana impressed for Everton with his ability and leadership for one so young.

And it seems West Ham are hoping it will be second time lucky this summer.

Because Moyes is serious about signing Everton star Onana and they’re willing to sell to West Ham for right price claims journalist Alan Nixon.

With Declan Rice on his way out of West Ham for what will be a record fee, Moyes has money to sign a top quality replacement.

West Ham have been linked with the likes of Yunus Musah, Kalvin Phillips, Joao Palhinha and James Ward-Prowse.

But in an exclusive article on his Patreon account this morning, journalist Nixon claims West Ham are in for Onana again and Everton would sell for around £40m.

FFP concerns also a driving force behind potential Onana sale

“Moyes wants powerful Belgian Onana to replace Declan Rice and the Goodison club may be willing to sell for between £40-50 million,” Nixon said on his Patreon.

“The Hammers chief wanted Onana when he left Lille last summer only to lose out to Everton where he started well but was less of a regular under Sean Dyche in the closing weeks.

“Moyes has the funds to pay the fee and a big contract but he will have to convince Onana that this is the right move. Everton are already looking at signing a new midfielder to replace Onana.”

Nixon’s claim comes after Le Soir reported Onana is keen to leave Everton in the summer transfer window.

Meanwhile iNews is also reporting that Everton want to sell Onana to help ease Financial Fair Play fears and ‘rebalance’ their squad.
