Paul Pogba’s Juventus return clears a path for West Ham and Spurs to fight over US star Weston McKennie after a secret medical.
West Ham will be hoping to compete with the likes of bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur for the European places again next season.
The fact Tottenham effectively had no European commitments after dropping out of the Conference League saw them beat West Ham in the race for Champions League football last term as David Moyes’s shallow squad became seriously stretched on their run to the Europa League semi-finals.

It seems West Ham and Tottenham will also be competing in the summer transfer market too.
Antonio Conte and Moyes have been linked with alleged shared interest in a number of players.
And one of those is Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.
Versatile US star McKennie is the man Moyes allegedly wants to partner Rice at West Ham with reports that he is seen as a natural replacement if and when the Hammers talisman ever leaves.
West Ham have been heavily linked with powerful box-to-box midfielder McKennie (BeSoccer and Tuttosport). When West Ham were linked with McKennie last summer, The Times claimed he would cost around £40-45m while other reports suggest Juve value him at closer to £25-30m.
But Spurs are seriously interested in 23-year-old McKennie too.
In fact back in November Tottenham were said to be leading West Ham in the race for the central midfielder, with former Juve boss Conte a big fan.
Sport Witness, citing reports in the Italian media, stated that West Ham had been quoted at between €30m-35m (£25-30m) for McKennie. According to the claims – as also reported by TeamTalk – West Ham are ‘not scared’ by the sum and are preparing to make the player one of their biggest ever signings.
According to a new report by Gazzetta dello Sport, the Turin outfit are willing to part ways with the United States international this summer, amidst interest from Spurs and West Ham.
It is said that Tottenham managing director Fabio Paratici is a huge admirer of McKennie, as he played a big role in the American making the switch from Schalke 04.
Well it is starting to look like a move to London for the West Ham and Tottenham target is very much on.
Because Paul Pogba’s Juventus return clears the path for West Ham and Spurs to fight over US star McKennie after a secret medical.
Pogba has left Man United as a free agent with Real Madrid, PSG and Juve all in the race to sign him.
But there is good news for West Ham and Tottenham given their interest in signing McKennie.
As it seems the France international has chosen a return to Juve.
According to the Corriere dello Sport and Football Italia, Pogba has already had a secret medical with the Bianconeri doctors, or at least the first part of the tests and is expected to sign a three-year deal.
The best McKennie can now hope for is a place on the bench, which will only increase West Ham and Tottenham’s chances of landing the brilliant all-rounder.
