Nayef Aguerd in London for West Ham medical but there's a very big problem

Nayef Aguerd is in London for a medical ahead of his proposed move to West Ham United from Rennes, but there’s a very big problem.

Not only are Newcastle attempting to hijack our move to sign him at the very last minute but the player himself is actually undecided as to which club he wants to join.

That’s according to a report from The Daily Star who claim that the 26-year-old still isn’t sure whether he wants to join West Ham or Newcastle this summer.

Missing out on Aguerd would be a real hammer blow for West Ham.

David Moyes identified the Morocco international as one of his key transfer targets earlier this summer and the Hammers appeared to be on the cusp of agreeing a £20 million deal to bring the Rennes ace to East London.

And it now seems as though the Scot’s plans could be derailed at the 11th hour…

Nayef Aguerd in London for medical but West Ham face big problem

The Daily Star reckon that the Rennes centre-back is actually in London for a medical ahead of his proposed move to the London Stadium.

Following Newcastle’s interest in hijacking the Hammers’ deal to sign Aguerd though, the Moroccan is now undecided as to whether he wants to move to East London or Tyneside.

Originally, the 26-year-old wanted to join West Ham and has been house hunting in London (Football Insider). So the latest update clearly highlights a big change in how Aguerd is thinking.

West Ham just have to throw absolutely everything at getting this deal done as soon as possible.

The fact that we have allowed discussions to drag on this long is inexcusable. No wonder we are always so vulnerable to the threat of other clubs hijacking our transfer deals.

If West Ham miss out on the signing off the 26-year-old, the board had better expect a mutiny from the fans.

Nayef Aguerd may well be in London for his medical but it seems as though we are still a very long way away from signing him.
