One West Ham United player is a reported transfer target for Napoli in the January transfer window.
The January transfer window is a vital one for West Ham manager David Moyes, with numerous new additions required.
The Hammers boss will have to get rid of some of the deadwood as well though, in order to raise funds for a spending spree of his own.
One player who surely won’t be here beyond the end of the current transfer window is Pablo Fornals, with the likes of Barcelona thought to be chasing his signature.
The 27-year-old was due to be out contract this summer, but the club triggered a one-year extension option that they held, meaning that his deal now runs until 2025 (The Athletic).
Fornals is our fifth current longest serving player behind Aaron Cresswell, Angelo Ogbonna, Michail Antonio and Lukasz Fabianski.
However, he could well be on his way out of the club soon…
West Ham player linked with January Napoli move
According to a report from Area Napoli, the Serie A side have just made an approach to sign the 27-year-old Hammers midfielder.
It is claimed that West Ham could be willing to sell Fornals for just a ‘couple of million’, but the Spaniard is said to favour a move to his homeland.
The sooner that the 27-year-old is sold the better for all parties involved.
Fornals has been an absolute shadow of his former self over the past 12-15 months, and seems to be totally devoid of confidence.
If West Ham manage to get a decent fee for Pablo in January, then selling him will be an absolute no-brainer for Moyes.
It’s time that the Scot started to ship out some of the deadwood, and moving on Fornals this winter would be a great place to start.
