West Ham United winger Maxwel Cornet is reportedly a late January transfer window target for Nottingham Forest.
Maxwel Cornet joined West Ham from Burnley in the summer of 2022, but he has proven to be somewhat of a disaster signing for us.
He suffered a long-term injury last season and that certainly didn’t help him. However, the Ivorian hasn’t done enough to justify his £17.5 million transfer fee whenever he’s been given a chance.
The 27-year-old has played just 294 minutes of action in all competitions for West Ham this season (Transfermarkt).
Hammers boss David Moyes recently suggested that the reason for Cornet’s lack of minutes is merely down to the amount of quality attacking players currently at the London Stadium.
Moyes has actually given Cornet big chances in our last two games, but if truth be told, he looked miles of the pace, in spite of his goal against Sheffield United.
And now his days at the London Stadium could be numbered…

Maxwel Cornet could leave West Ham before deadline day
Nottingham Forest could make a late move to sign the Hammers winger within the next 48 hours, according to the Daily Mail.
It was recently claimed that West Ham could sell Cornet for as little as £6 million this month, and I actually think that would be a major result!
The 27-year-old just isn’t good enough to be playing for West Ham as far as I’m concerned. I do think that he hasn’t been given enough minutes but still, he just hasn’t done enough whenever he has been given a chance.
A move away from the London Stadium for Maxwel Cornet will be the best thing for him as an individual, and West Ham as a club.
If we manage to get any kind of decent fee for him it will be a real touch but I reckon it will probably be a loan deal if anything, given Nottingham Forest’s current FFP concerns.
One thing’s for sure though, Cornet needs to leave this month for the good of his own career. Let’s hope that the club facilitate his exit before deadline day.
