West Ham United’s pursuit of Adama Traore has taken another turn, it seems.

On a dramatic day of transfer rumours, reports suggested that West Ham’s deal for Traore had broken down.

That threatened to throw a spanner in the works, given that West Ham are trying to sign Traore.

How many points would West Ham have taken from their last two games if Lucas Paqueta had been playing? 🤔

Maybe I’m harsh, but I just don’t think he suits this team anymore…

It’s been a transfer that has been tipped to happen for a while. The winger worked with Nuno Espirito Santo at Wolves, and is out of the picture at Fulham when Marco Silva has his full squad available.

After his Cottagers side beat Brighton on Saturday, Silva confirmed the very latest on Traore.

Adama Traore’s Fulham exit has now been confirmed

Silva was asked about the winger’s future after his team won late against the Seagulls by talkSPORT’s chief football correspondent Alex Crook after he was left out of their squad.

Crook revealed that Silva had confirmed that Traore will leave Fulham imminently, amid all of his links with a move across London to West Ham.

On social media platform X, Crook said: “Marco Silva confirmed to me on @talkSPORT that #WHUFC target Adama Traore will be leaving #Fulham this window.”

Adama Traore already has a big problem if he joins West Ham

It will be interesting to see where Traore is deployed if he joins West Ham during what remains of the transfer window.

This season, he’s generally operated as a right-winger, which is Jarrod Bowen’s spot and it seems almost impossible to imagine that he’ll drop out of the side any time soon.

Traore is also capable of operating as a wing-back on that side, but Aaron Wan-Bissaka has impressed in recent games as a traditional full-back.

Having a deeper squad will obviously be a positive but it’s not immediately clear where he would fit in.

Traore has worked with Nuno before but quite how much improvement he’d bring to the West Ham ranks is unclear.
