West Ham’s pursuit of Adama Traore is likely to divide opinion.
Indeed, West Ham have held talks about signing Traore from Fulham this month in a bid to reunite him with Nuno Espirito Santo.
The Traore conundrum has long been established. Certainly compelling a player on his day, there just hasn’t been enough end product from him to get particularly excited about.
Adama Traore has a dismal minutes-to-goal record in the Premier League 😲
West Ham are sleepwalking towards relegation with this transfer…
Traore, of course, has worked with West Ham manager Nuno before, with the pair having enjoyed relative success at Wolves.
It’s not hard to imagine many supporters greeting the news that West Ham want Traore with a collective sigh.
At one point, Traore’s move to West Ham appeared to be in doubt.
According to fresh reports, however, there has been a development.
Fulham think Adama Traore could join West Ham
That’s because TEAMtalk suggest that talks are back underway.
In fact, they reveal that West Ham hope Fulham will let the player leave after all.
It’s said that Fulham wanted to keep the 29-year-old for a large portion of January due to having players away at the Africa Cup of Nations.
That tournament is coming towards the end now and the report claims that sources close to Fulham have come to a conclusion that a deal could develop and that fresh talks are likely to take place.
How many more signings do we need to make for you to feel confident about staying up?! 🤔
Adama Traore’s stance on Nuno Espirito Santo
Nuno certainly hasn’t covered himself in glory since moving to West Ham.
While Nuno is being backed at West Ham, it would be perhaps fair to say he hasn’t won all too many admirers just yet.
With that in mind, it might make sense to lean on players who are familiar with his brand of football.

Traore, of course, is well-versed in all things Nuno.
He made 131 appearances under the Portuguese at Wolves, after all, during which time he scored ten goals while registering 18 assists.
In 2020, Traore told the Express and Star: “I did trust the process, and I trust him – 100 per cent.”
To pretend that Traore is the definitive answer would be foolish, but he could be someone for Nuno to lean on for the battles to come at least.
