Manchester United could hijack West Ham deal to sign ‘unbelievable’ player late on deadline-day

West Ham United face a big problem with Manchester United eyeing up a move to hijack our proposed deal for a key Julen Lopetegui target.

With deadline day now upon us, West Ham and Manchester United are both eyeing late deals.

Julen Lopetegui is actually on the verge of overseeing the best transfer window we have ever witnessed at the London Stadium.

However, a few deals still need to happen in order for that to become a reality.

The West Ham manager is clearly still very active in the market on deadline day.

It has been widely reported that the Hammers’ main focus is to shift on some fringe players before the window slams shut.

We’ve actually done quite well with that so far, and now it’s about adding to the squad again.

Carlos Soler will almost certainly join West Ham, but Man United could well scupper our plan to bring in another top quality player…

After plenty of good news today, it seems like we now have been dealt a blow.

The Hammers could be set to miss out on one of our transfer targets on deadline day.

That’s because Sky Sports are claiming that Manchester United could try to sign Carney Chukwuemeka from Chelsea.

It was claimed early today that West Ham were trying to bring Carney Chukwuemeka to the London Stadium on loan.

It now seems like we may well have our work cut out for us though, if we are to bring the 20-year-old to East London.

When Man United come knocking, most players find it hard to reject their advances…

Missing out on Chukwuemeka to Man United would hurt

Chukwuemeka has been described as ‘unbelievable’ by Marcus Bettinelli (Chelsea’s YouTube channel).

He is a huge talent, and someone who could really thrive at the London Stadium.

Chukwuemeka is a central midfielder by trade, although he can operate in more attacking roles as well, and he’s a hugely talented young player.

With Soler on his way to the London Stadium, will the former Aston Villa man get much game-time? Probably not.

However, this is clearly a signing being made by Lopetegui with one eye on the future.

He possesses incredibly technical ability, real physicality and plays with incredibly refreshing vigour and commitment.

Unfortunately for West Ham though, Manchester United have thrown their hat into the ring in the race to sign Chukwuemeka on transfer deadline day.
